Some foods are healthier than others. The almond, in particular, is excellent for health because it helps to prevent the appearance of certain diseases or cancers. Explanations.

Eating almonds when feeling peckish is a great idea. They will give you a feeling of satiety and they will keep you healthy. The benefits of almonds are indeed numerous. We have selected five.

Almond protects against cardiovascular diseases

According to a study conducted in 2015 by a team of researchers from the research organization Life Science, in Bethesda, in the United States, eating nuts would reduce cholesterol levels, and in particular ”  bad cholesterol  “.

The consumption of almonds, in particular, would be particularly effective in reducing the risk of heart disease.

But how to explain it? According to the authors of this work, nuts ”  contain many nutrients: unsaturated fatty acids, proteins, vitamins and minerals  “,  substances that improve the health of blood vessels and arterial function. These findings confirmed a previous study conducted by researchers at the University of Aston in Great Britain.

According to this work, eating almonds regularly would make blood circulation more fluid, reduce blood pressure and therefore minimize the risk of cardiovascular disease.

Almond is rich in magnesium

Almonds are also particularly rich in magnesium: eating around 30 almonds is equivalent to covering a quarter of the recommended requirements for maintaining good health. If you suffer from stress,  almonds will give you real muscle relaxation

The magnesium present in almonds will also allow you to limit the spasms responsible for pain, especially during the premenstrual period.

Almond consumption will also be very useful to take care of your liver because magnesium effectively fights against excess fat that can clog the liver.

It will also be beneficial for your entire central nervous system and can act positively in case of depression because magnesium can be considered a natural tranquilizer.

Almond prevents the appearance of certain cancers

Almonds are also rich in antioxidants which are mainly found in the thin skin that covers them. We know that antioxidants can effectively fight against cell aging and the appearance of certain cancers. Eating a diet rich in antioxidants also helps fight the onset of certain degenerative diseases, such as Parkinson’s disease.

Almonds can never cure these diseases, but eating them regularly will reduce the risk. Rich in fiber, almonds will also be recommended to limit the risk of contracting colon cancer.

Almond strengthens cognitive functions

Almonds are also excellent for the brain. Many studies have shown that regular consumption of almonds helps keep cognitive functions healthy. Rich in minerals and trace elements, such as zinc, almonds will help keep your neurons healthy.

Vitamin  E, present in large quantities in these dried fruits, would also prevent cognitive decline, especially in the elderly.

It is for this reason that doctors recommend giving almonds to children as they will be excellent for their brain development and health. These virtues are largely due to the presence of riboflavin and L-carnitine which effectively prevent Alzheimer’s disease.

Almond helps fight diabetes

Because they are rich in protein, vitamins of group B and E, magnesium, phosphorus, and fiber, and have a low glycemic index,  almonds help prevent certain chronic diseases such as diabetes and can be consumed by diabetic patients who want to eat a balanced diet.

According to work conducted by researchers in Toronto in 2011, the fatty acids found in almonds improve glycemic control. These fruits may also  increase insulin sensitivity. They are therefore really recommended in case of type 2 diabetes.
